Urban nature for me isn’t simply litter; it’s a statement about how careless we are with our environment.
These urban ‘scapes’ play with the concept of ‘urbanity’ ~ culture, cultivation, civilisation. In this throw away civilisation, is litter part of our culture? Is our cultural environment affecting our environmental culture?
Petrol in the gutter, mixing with leaves; the juxtaposition made this a ‘must take’.
So easy to throw away a sweet wrapper. The colours not quite melding with the leaves, but the shape slipped between the sheets of leaves.
The sharp lines and pebbled pattern of the broken glass contrasted with the soft moss and worn stones of the path.
